What Your Support Makes Possible

The  Dwyer Coalition for Military Veterans & Families is an independent nonprofit organization that serves as the statewide coordinating body for New York State's Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Project network. While we work closely with Dwyer Programs throughout New York State, the Coalition does not receive dedicated state funding for its operations and relies on grants, sponsorships, donations, and community partnerships to sustain and grow its work.

Your support helps make possible:

  • Statewide coordination and collaboration among Dwyer Programs and community partners.

  • Monthly statewide meetings that bring together Veteran-serving organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders.

  • Development and maintenance of the current New York Statewide Dwyer website and resource hub.

  • Expansion of the Dwyer Virtual Community, providing year-round opportunities for connection and peer engagement.

  • Educational resources, awareness campaigns, and information-sharing initiatives.

  • Advocacy efforts that elevate issues affecting Veterans, service members, military families, caregivers, and survivors.

  • Training, technical assistance, and professional development opportunities.

  • Scholarshipand workforce development initiatives that support future leaders within the military-connected community.

  • Development of innovative programs, tools, and resources that strengthen peer support across New York State.

  • Building partnerships that improve access to resources, opportunities, and support for military-connected individuals and families.

Why Donations Matter

Although local Dwyer Programs receive funding through their respective host organizations and funding streams, the Dwyer Coalition receives no dedicated state appropriation to support its day-to-day operations, statewide coordination efforts, technology infrastructure, advocacy work, educational initiatives, or community engagement activities.

Every donation helps strengthen the network that connects communities across New York State and supports the continued growth of peer support opportunities for Veterans, service members, military families, caregivers, and survivors.
